Born and raised in Dayton, OH, Taliaferro Sebastian is a huge influence on the new up and coming Artist in the Area. While not too many people are big on Art where he’s from, he takes pride in rejuvenating the Culture through his Art. He has studied under the Legendary Bing Davis, Abner Cope as well as Dwayne Daniels. He Graduated from Central State University in 2010 with bachelors in Graphic design. Although Fine Art has been his key to success, he doesn’t limit himself to just one medium. Watercolors, Acrylic paint, Oil Paint, Color pencils, Charcoals are all go to materials as well as a tad bit of spray paint. Taliaferro was respected around campus from the moment he stepped foot on the yard as “The Walking Canvas”. He painted pictures on most of his shirts as well as other students around campus for creative expression.
Taliaferro has also done pieces for a few celebrities around the Country; although the pieces were not commissioned they are very appreciated by the respected owner. The manager of Dej Loaf, an artist from Detroit seen a photo that Taliaferro had drawn of her and was delighted to have it sent. Lantana an artist from Cincinnati also seen a photo that was drawn of him by Taliaferro and told him “This is the Best Drawing I’ve ever seen of me”. Back in 2014 Taliaferro won an Art contest online which brought his attention to an Atlanta Musician named Young Thug. While in DC Taliaferro had an opportunity to present the Artwork to the respected party as well as get a feature on their media outlets for more exposure. He also gained the attention of Art Collector and Famous Musician Swizz Beats who told him via instagram “You’re better than me”. Even though he didn’t receive a payday from any of the artist listed, he takes pride in knowing that’s he’s one step away.
Across the map Taliaferro work has been requested and commissioned by various people looking to support the Ohio native. All the way from LA, Chicago, Detroit, Dallas, DC, Atlanta, Baltimore, Cleveland, Charlotte, Kentucky, as well as overseas in Italy his work can be seen. Taliaferro’s goal is to have work in all 50 states by next summer, and he’s already halfway there .Locally he has work all over the Dayton area, in homes and in restaurants and studios. Murals painted in boutiques in Dayton and in Lawrenceburg, In. Three years ago he started an Art exhibit called Art Has No Rules and has put on five Art Exhibits since. He gives local artist a platform to display their work on a bigger scale which would have otherwise gone unseen. He gives back by painting kids faces at various events and also does demonstrations at the homeless shelter. He has illustrated two books this year. The first book “The Tragedy of Child Support” was written by a Cleveland native Josh Allen who works for NASA. The second book “The Adventures of KIMI” is a children’s book written by another Cleveland native Constance Alexander whose niece (KIMI) dances for the Cavs. Taliaferro is currently living in Dayton, Oh where he continues to become a influence in a world of people who would have never been introduced to Art.
